Launette Woolforde, EdD, DNP, RN-BC
Launette Woolforde has been a registered nurse for 22 years and has served in various roles ranging from staff nurse to corporate director. She has worked in the clinical setting in medicine, surgery, and critical care, as well as in the academic setting, as a professor at several schools of nursing. Currently, Dr. Woolforde is Vice President, System Nursing Education and Professional Development in the Office of the Chief Nurse Executive at Northwell Health. She works alongside organizational leaders to move the hospital toward its goals of superior patient care, quality and safety. She oversees education, research and practice activities that impact the hospitals more than 2,000 nurses and more than 3,500 other health care team members. 

Dr. Woolforde co-led the North Shore-LIJ Health System in its journey toward successful Center of Excellence designation from the National League for Nursing in 2012, one of only three healthcare organizations in the country to earn this distinction. She has earned numerous awards and holds several national certifications. A 20-time scholarship recipient, she has served nationally with several nursing organizations including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the Association for Nursing Professional Development. She is a member of the Board at the National League for Nursing.

Dr. Woolforde earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Pace University, a Masters Degree in Adult Health Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Hunter College CUNY, a post master certificate in Nursing Education from the College of New Rochelle, a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University, and a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
